Subject: Christmas in Prison
I pray you have a truly Merry Christmas Season and share the “reason for the season” with many others. This would be a great time to give out a creation DVD to everyone on your list. Put a “teaser note” with it like, “See if you can watch only fifteen minutes and turn it off. I bet you can’t!” You may change their eternity!
Being away from our families is one of the most difficult things about imprisonment, but Christmas time is especially hard on prisoners. One new man that came last week is especially despondent. Psalm 142:4 definitely applies here! He is a very highly trained neurologist and has spent his whole life serving others as a doctor. One of the other doctors in his office was passing out prescriptions for drugs for the asking. The government said that this neurologist should have known what was going on in his own office, and therefore convicted him of “conspiracy.” He was given a nine year prison sentence! Our nation’s conspiracy laws can get ANYONE locked up and those laws desperately need to be repealed!
Now divorced at fifty-two; no children; his medical license now gone; and enduring the emotional roller coaster of a huge prison term that he does not deserve—Dr. Jeff is more than depressed. He was raised Jewish, but knows little about any religion, even his own. I have befriended him and walk the track with him several times a day. I love picking his amazing brain on medical and biology questions while I “sneak in” the gospel. Dr. Jeff is unaware that I am requesting this, but I would love for him to get a LOT of cards and letters this Christmas. Just thank him for walking with me and being my friend. Tell him you are praying for him and that God loves him. If God leads you, include ONE gospel tract. His address is:
Jeff Friedlander #50846-018
Federal Satellite Camp
2650 US Highway 301 South
Jesup, GA 31599-5676
Pray God will open his eyes and heart to the gospel. In addition, I will send our ministry a few other names if you would like to send a few other men encouragement this Christmas season.
I have one Writ of Mandamus in to the Supreme Court and eight others that I can file should this first one prove unsuccessful. I am told that the Supreme Court usually rules on these in about three to four weeks.
It is about to get rough in America and on the entire planet earth. (See Matthew 24) Brethren, be strong and remain faithful to Christ! Thanks for your prayers and support during this difficult time!
