The Magic Globe: Part 8

Angie and Grandpa go to China — What’s the Best Thing That Can Happen?

Chapter Eight
Back to Pensacola

Suddenly, POOOOOF ! They were back in the Science Center by the magic globe. Angie turned the globe off and handed the key back to Grandpa. She was pretty quiet as they walked back out to her bike. “I think I get it, Grandpa.” she said soberly. “When I did what Jesus wanted me to do and walked away from my friends, they laughed and it hurt my feelings. But I should have been happy like Lu Chi. Getting laughed at or persecuted for doing right is a gift from God and we will get great rewards, right?”

“Yes Angie, We sure will,” said Grandpa as he hugged his precious granddaughter. “I know it hurts but keep Jesus’ promise in mind next time it happens. If He can make the w-h-o-o-o-l-e world and all the stars in only six days, I bet His ‘great rewards’ are REALLY cool!”

“Hmmmmm. . .” Angie nodded. “Thank you, Grandpa. I feel better now. I’ll sure pray for Lu Chi and the Christians in China more! What looks like a bad thing is really about the best thing that can happen, isn’t it?”

“It sure is granddaughter. It sure is.”

S-o-o-o-o-o getting laughed at by my friends today for doing right was a good thing,” Angie said as she held Grandpa’s hand. “Let’s pray for Lu Chi, Grandpa.”

Grandpa bowed his head and prayed, “Jesus, we Christians in America sure complain a lot. Please help us do right and rejoice when we get persecuted for You. Please bless Lu Chi and her family. Please help her grandpa get out of jail soon and help him preach about You all over China. We love you, Lord. Amen”

Angie slowly got on her bike. She looked back over her shoulder at Grandpa as she started to ride home. “We have a lot to be thankful for, Grandpa! Let’s keep praying for Lu Chi and the Christians in China.”

The End

    Hi Kent,

    What a lovely story.

Much respect must be given to Angie as she did what was right, even though it hurt, before knowing the reason why we can be joyful in persecution.

There is a child to whom God has a great reward.

Thank you Kent for not stopping writing. Reading your posts and the posts of those that congregate around to respond is a lovely study. It’s inspiring to see Gods hand at work in so many peoples’ lives.

    Lots of Love

    Dr. Hovind

I live in South Africa. Someone gave me set of your Young Earth DVDs about 4 years ago and they made a big difference to my new walk as a Christian. Thank you. I’m praying for you and waiting for the day you’re set free. Until then, run with Jesus, my friend.

    Regards
    Butch

Hi pray that pastor Hovind will get out sooner than expected. He really helped me to understand the world/universe via creation science and the Bible.

    Dear Kent

You being in prison is part of a bigger plan of God. Even your resistance was used by God to bring you to the cell you now sit in. A platform never imagined – a prison cell. Yet God is using you and the truth of the bible creation continues through your children and both young and old are receiving the truth. I can not begin to imagine the pain of losing precious time with your family but God has counted every tear and heard every cry and still meets you in that cell. God will reveal all to you when you meet Him. Just know that your voice for God has not been silenced and could not be contained by the enemy. I pray favor over you and your prison sentence. I pray a turnaround in events not by your own doing but thru supernatural intervention in Jesus name. I pray as you patiently wait on God and do His work in prison to the lost and hurt souls, your time in prison will be shortenned, your family’s waiting shortenned and that you receive all that God is preparing for you and in you. God is in perfect control and your recompense is in His hands. This new season will not see the same radically defiant Kent Hovind (your kids are doing a fine job of that) but a seasoned servant and son of God bringing the love and grace of Christ in all manner of speech. Amen.
