It Never Gets Old…

It never gets old! Leading people to Christ is a precious privilege! New men come to the prison camp all the time. I have made it a little ministry for my years in prison to try to intercept the new guys and give them a tour and take away some of the anxiety that comes with walking in the prison doors. I also try to witness without pushing too hard.

August 11, I gave three new guys a tour, answered questions, and made sure they had the little stuff they needed. The next morning, I was in the chapel by myself working on my time lines (I love visuals!) and one of the new guys came in as well as another man who has been here for over a year. They were looking at my seven-foot-long charts and began asking questions about end times. Everyone with a brain can see world events look bad and they are wondering, “What on earth is about to happen?”

One thing led to another and they both accepted the Lord! It was great! It never gets old! Forty-two years ago I led my first soul to Christ at the Heart of Illinois Fair and was hooked! I asked the Lord if I could do that the rest of my life. God has been s-o-o-o-o-o good to allow me to do this over and over for the past forty-two years. I hope I get forty-two more years!

If you have never led anyone to Christ, do it today. MANY are listening that would never have listened before. This is indeed a GREAT time to win souls and win crowns! The harvest is plenteous but the laborers are few. He that winneth souls is wise!

    Like Paul, you are truly an encouragement.

    Philippians 4:11a-13: For I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength.

    Praise the Lord! I too learned today a friend for over 30 years just got saved! God is still keeping us busy and I pray we can stay focused on Him as it is getting harder each day.
    Thank you Brother Kent as you serve where you are. That’s what we are to do, huh? When you visited our church in Carthage NC in October of 2005 my children JW and BillyRae claimed you as one of their heros. You are one of mine too. We pray for you and your family and I pray if it be the Lord’s will you will be with your family soon. May God bless you all and keep you safe. May He give you wisdom in all that you do. Is there anything we can do to help in other ways?

    Dear Mr. Hovind,
    I just wanted to thank you for your work for Christ. My family stumbled upon tape 1 of your VHS series back in 1997. Soon we owned all of your videos and have heard you speak several different times in person. Your presention “Leviathan” was always a favorite and I recently taught a nine year old girl the concept of not getting a guy for his looks because he will someday loose those looks. (Just check out a nursing home.) Your teaching have become an every day part of life for me and my siblings- from purity, to being a #1 worker, to how to spend money, to creation and the flood, you were an intregal part of our homeschooling. (We even learned our love for blonde jokes from you.)
    Just last week I found your blog while looking for an update as to how you are doing. I and my family were thrilled to see that you are doing good and still have a voice. We pray for you often. Keep up the good work.

    I am grateful for the opportunity to write to you. I am 28 years old and a believer as you are. As for your current situation, I fully support you and your decisions. God has a way of working things out in His own way. I just wanted to say that I have the utmost respect and appreciation for you and the work you’ve done over the years in spreading the truth about the creation of the world. I have watched many, many debates you’ve been featured in, as well as television appearances. You have the most class! Seriously, you are an amazing communicator and debater. I only wish that I may one day have the communication skills you possess. I am always so impressed by your presentation of the FACTS that seem so obvious to you and me, and you never belittle anyone for believing otherwise. You just present the truth. You are an artist, sir. Keep doing what you do best, and God Bless.

    Hi Dr. Hovind,

    You have such a good attitude about soul-winning. I wish I always had a good attitude about it. Last night, I went door-to-door soul-winning with my Mom and my sister. It can be discouraging. It’s not so much the people, but the doubts that enter my mind before and while I am going. I usually end up wondering if I could have said something different, or with more urgency, which would have changed the “tide” of the conversation and led them to the Lord. At least I know that it’s never in vain. Other people usually visit the church and hear the gospel, and sometimes other church members (usually the Pastor) win souls the same day go out soul-winning. I just wish I could win some more souls, too!

    I was thinking about you today, and thinking about writing to you, but I couldn’t think of anything encouraging to say, except to just confess my faults (as the Bible says) and let you know I am thinking about you and praying for you. Hope you had a GREAT day! =)

    I just want to let you know that the fact that you, like Paul and Silas, are keeping up God’s calling even in the jail cell, is such a witness to us who are free out here. I thank you for pursuing Christ through the hard times. God is using you to move this country… even when you may feel that you are not doing as much as you could outside prison, the fact is that God is using you even more than He may have if you hadn’t been arrested!

    I just hope I can be the tiniest portion of encouragement to you as you have been to me!

    Shalom Dr. Hovind! We started watching your videos years ago and have loved you and your teachings ever since we started listening to you. I often wonder how you and your family are doing. I just found this blog and I am so thrilled to hear you are finding light (and being a light) in a dark place. It is amazing how our Father works and how His plans are perfect although often far from what we would have hoped for from an earthly perspective. It’s wonderful to hear that you are able to speak to folks who are so much in need and looking for hope, how amazing it is to hear. I am so thankful to hear this news. I am thankful for you wonderful teachings and I pray you are finding hope and peace.

    Hi Kent, i met you when i was a teen after your presentation in spokane, wa. anyway Im now a drug counselor and was wondering if you could help me out. I would like to share the lord with those god gives me to counsel but many say they are christians however have a lifestyle that says they are not because they are drunkards, and most fornicators so am i to tell them that they are not saved because they have not repented or should i not share with them about what the bible say about salvation at all? any answer would help

    First I want you to know that I pray for you twice a day, every day. I also pray for Gilat Shalit, the abducted Israeli soldier, now almost 5 years in the hands of Hamas. Just like you – guilty of nothing. The other one I pray every day for is Nathan Pollard. Accused of high treason for giving the Israeli information about Sadam Hussein’s nuclear reactor. IDF bombed it in 1988, so that the American soldiers can go in, without fearing dirty bombs, in 1991.
    The prize for it, a life sentence, 25 years served so far. Recently he asked to be allowed to attend his father’s funeral – his request was denied.

    I’m telling you all this with a broken heart, realizing that innocence may keep you in prison, while scores of legal and illegal criminals are walking the streets of the world.
    God knows why, and accident is not a kosher word.

    I’m earnestly praying for your release that our Sovereign God, the Judge of all creation of all time and space, will speak His words to our fallen justice system to free you soon and restore to you a ministry 10 fold more effect than pre-prison days. Thank you for living your life before us as an example. You know and have fellowship with those who were also falsely accused as you were (considered a flight risk and a danger to society!) and you are in good company with the Lord Jesus Christ, Paul, and disciples then and now who hold to the truth in Jesus. Know that your ministry goes on and I have given your resources, your work and Creation Science Evangelism to many here in Phoenix, AZ. I trust you are using this time to “sharpen your sword” to prepare for the work God has for you at your release.

    I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for all the work you’ve done for God. I was saw your video on youtube “100 reasons why evolution is so stupid” and was instantly drawn to your teachings. I had never heard about you until then. I did some research to find out if I could attend any of your events, but found out horrible information that you were incarcerated. For some reason, I instantly assumed there was foul play behind your incarceration (whether or not it was completely false or trumped up charges for petty mistakes). We need more people like you in this world during these times. Take care and God bless.
