A Soul for Eternity!

Sunday morning, 9:45, November 20th

Thrilled beyond words! No greater joy! That’s the best way I can describe it. Mark walked in my cell-cubicle smiling a few minutes ago. (Our cells here are clean, open cubicles in an open dorm with two men to a cube. It is a complete waste of money to keep us here! These men should be out working, not costing the taxpayers money.)

Mark said, “Well Kent, I read half of Daniel this morning. I’m gonna try to read the other half before our Bible study tonight. This has been so great learning the Bible!” I told him that was wonderful, and he headed back for his room for the 10 am weekend count.

Seeing the excitement on his face these last three days has been a thrill of which I never tire! When Mark first came here a few days ago, he looked like a calf looking at a new gate! Prison does that to folks. I know the feeling, and I always try to assist the new guys right away and give them a little tour, let them know it is going to be alright, explain to them how to get email and phone working, and make sure they understand how to get basic supplies like envelopes, dental floss, coffee, pen, paper etc. It’s a simple way I can minister to men who are hurting.

I also offered to make Mark one of my world famous (well…the guys here like them!) personalized name book markers. Mark said he would love one s-o-o-o-o-o, as he sat in my cube while I made the bookmarker (which takes about 2 minutes) I asked him about where he would spend eternity. That led to a great conversation and his accepting Christ as his Savior about 15 minutes later! There was a hunger in him for things of God right away!

Since then, He has come every night at 8:30 to our informal Bible discussion and has been like a sponge! This is all new to him. His sparse attendance at the Catholic Church over the last 50 years taught him almost zero about God’s Word.

S-o-o-o-o-o, to hear him walk in and say he has read half of Daniel is …..well, if you have never led a soul to Christ and watched them grow in the Lord you will never understand. You are missing the greatest joy on earth! John said, “I have no greater joy…” 3 John 4. ‘Ya really outta’ try it! I LOVE serving the Lord!

Still trying to get home though and I continue to file motions pro se.

See ya at the finish line!
Kent Hovind

I was blessed to meet you two times at seminars you held at Riverview Bible Baptist Church in Forsyth, Mo. I felt like a sponge just trying to learn so much while reflecting on the lies taught to me as a product of the public school system. I also learned how to properly shoot a rubberband and have past on that knowledge through the years. :) It’s been a blessing to share some of the seminar information through the years, especially now as I work with the youth at our church in Mexico, Mo. I enjoy reading your blogs and the stories of offenders giving their hearts over to the Lord and growing in their faith. I know this must be a trying time for you and your family but I’m thankful you have turned your focus towards how you can serve God and make a difference in the lives around you. I pray you continue to seek Him for strength and guidance and look forward to the day for you and your family when your able to serve Him like you served in the past. Thank you for serving the Lord. Praise God!

    John 15:18-20

If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.
If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.
Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.

Reading about your perseverance throughout these trials is an encouragement to me! God is supplying the grace and strength you need, just like He does for each of us when we walk with Him. May the Lord bless you and satisfy you, so that the latter years of your life are even richer than the first.

I was introduced to your ministry a few months ago. Since then my whole outlook has been transformed. Like the trail of blood leading back 2000 years, your bonds are a testament of the sufferings of our people. God bless you. I can not wait for the day I can bring my Son to hear you in person.

Dr. Hovind, your attitude is an encouragement to me and others as well as a token of His life in you. The joy of the Lord is your strength, and it’s apparent that you have been in His presence and have His joy unspeakable and full of glory. I praise God for you and your ministry and pray for your release to be back home with your family. There are many who love and appreciate you in the Body of Christ who have not forgotten you and are praying as well. If one will put a thousand to flight and two, ten thousand, then we know the power of our prayers are exponential and mighty through Him who loves us and gave Himself for us. To God be the glory!

    Hi dr. Hovind,

I just want to say that me and my two children today watched another of your seminars. They are Samuel (7) and Elise (12) and both enjoyed it a lot. I have been a YEC for a long time now – had exposure to other creationist ministries. They all do a wonderful job, but I must say that I do enjoy your sense of humor most! It is fun to listen to you. Isn’t it amazing that the Lord can use still use your seminars right around the globe? (We are missionaries in Slovakia.) May He keep on blessing you and use you right where you are. Praying that you will be home soon!

By the way, I am a missionary to the Gypsies (Roma) and fortunately, a lot a convincing is not needed for them to believe that God created them in His image – they simply did not pay attention at school when the teacher told them about evolution. That is probably one good reason why Christianity is growing so much in the ‘Third World’ while it is languishing in many of the more sophisticated countries – over there, people do not bow so readily to the academic gurus of our time, and when they become believers in Christ, they accept the Bible on its face value.

    Dear Dr. Hovind,
God Bless you and your service to the Lord. I know it may seem difficult right now and that the world hates you, but remember they hated Him first! They prosecuted Him and they will prosecute you. Your story and seminars have been such an inspiration to my life. I have so many friends who are Atheist and some who are not my friends who have attacked me personally, but watching your seminars has given me the strength to show them that Evolution is Stupid! Thank you so much for that. I am currently a student at Illinois Central College studying Education, but I originally was studying science until I found a passion and calling to Education, Languages and teaching in foreign countries. Just to know you went to ICC is so encouraging to me! I want to become a missionary and completely give my life away to serve the Lord as well as to serve others. Knowing that people that come from the land of corn fields can actually accomplish become something is very encouraging! Thank you again for your service to the Lord! I will continue to pray for you and your service! :) You are truly an inspiration,

    Dr. Hovind,

I’ve been a Christian all of my life. Baptised as a baby, saved by God, literally, at age 7, when I survived an airplane crash. At that time in my life, I thought it was common knowledge that God existed, so I really didn’t put too much stock into it being a miracle, more so that God just saved me. “Wow, God saved me. What a good guy. Just as I thought”

As I grew up, high school, college, and learn that people were rejecting God, I couldn’t believe it. When I found out about the evolutionary theory, and people buying into it, I had to research it for myself, because all I had at the time was blind faith. Listening to atheists talk, and why they believed what they believed, I started feeling a bit frightened. Maybe it wasn’t God, maybe it was all a coincidence. Maybe I was wrong. I didn’t know what to do. The internet is a horrible place, and it seemed every place I looked, every forum I went on, there were the atheists, calling us dumb and stupid. Their weapon of choice. I felt so alone because no one likes talking about religion. I didn’t know where to start looking for the answers. Atheists would constantly say that they believed science over the Bible, so I knew that somehow I needed to find science that complimented the bible.

After much prayer, that’s when I stumbled upon (or was lead to?) your seminars. I ordered all of them, not knowing who you were, or what you believed. After watching all 7, I began watching all your debates on youtube. I can’t even begin to tell you how much you have helped me. You not only solidified my faith is Jesus Christ, but you gave me the knowledge, and confidence to defend that faith against anyone. Since watching what you have to say, I’ve read dozens of books by many different authors, and many many of your points are validated. I always found it funny when your opponents would call you a liar, but not be able to back it up. Again, slander, the weapon of the atheist.

I was sad to hear that you had be sent away, but as you’ve said, all of God’s messangers are persecuted, and perhaps, if it is God’s will, I will be too in some way, because I intend to live my life for Jesus and defend him to the end. I want to save as many people as I can, before my time comes, and without you, I’d be much furhter behind in my quest.

I could go on for pages, but I’ll leave it at that. God Bless you for the rest of your incarceration, and when you are back home, I plan to be front row at the first seminar I am able to attend. You’re in my prayers, Dr. Hovind. Thank you so much.
